Dermal fillers
for facial contouring.
Dermal Fillers are used to create added volume or shape to areas of the face where soft tissue has started to “sag”. They can enhance the shape of the face or create a lift as they replace lost volume.
We use Dermal fillers for the following areas
- Cheeks
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines
- Upper and lower lip enhancement
- Jaw line
- Chin area
- Temple hollows
- Forhead
How dermal fillers work
Dermal fillers are injected into the skin to boost the hyaluronic acid in the tissue. They are used to increase volume, plump the skin to appear more youthful or to fill wrinkles in the skin. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring chemical in the skin. Levels of hyaluronic acid start to reduce as we age. It is a sugar molecule that is naturally hydrostatic, meaning it attracts water (1000 molecules of water per molecule of hyaluronic acid). It is often added as an ingredient in skincare to hydrate the skins surface,
Dermal fillers are made from a soft gel containing non animal hyaluronic acid which is directly injected. The results are a gentle volumising effect that contours the face adding lift and plumping the tissue. The treatment can be beneficial for the cheeks chin mouth and lip areas. Once injected it is not visible and it moves naturally as the face moves, so it doesn’t look unnatural. It lasts between 6-9 months sometimes longer depending on the chosen dermal filler.
Volume loss occurs as we get older and gravity pulls the skin downward so often fillers are a great solution to hollow looking spaces in the cheek area. The mouth area is prone to loss of volume and elasticity, here dermal fillers can plump defined lines such as nasal labial folds and marionette lines.
Dermal fillers are often used to enhance and reshape the lips, adding volume to upper or lower lips or reshaping areas of the lip that are uneven.
A consultation is required prior to treatment.
