Dark circles

Reduce the appearance of dark circle under the eyes.

Treatments for dark circles around the eyes may include more than one approach. It will depend on the cause and the anatomy of the eye area.

A common reason for dark circles to show as we age is loss of volume in an area called the tear trough.

Tear trough Treatments.

The eye area is a common area where volume depletion can lead to the prominence of dark circles. It causes hollowing under the eye, and wrinkling around and under the eye.
This happens as we age, skin loses its elasticity, becomes thinner and due to gravity pulling the skin down exposing the hollow orbital where the eye sits.

The tear trough is the area between your lower eyelid and cheek and as we age, we can experience volume loss in this area which can often cause dark circles and hollows under the eyes. This is not an uncommon problem and can be treated easily with special types of dermal filler.

Tear trough filler treatment quickly and effectively restores lost volume, and reduces dark circles under the eyes. It also reduces fine lines and wrinkles as the dermal fillers will boost collagen production by hydrating from the inside. This treatment will give you natural-looking results with a fresher, less tired-looking appearance.

Tear trough fillers are suitable for people who are concerned about dark circles or wrinkles around their eyes, and are looking to restore lost volume. Tear trough filler treatment has the following benefits:

  • Reduces dark circles under the eyes
  • Adds volume and plump hollows under the eyes
  • Rejuvenates tired eyes
  • Boosts collagen production and overall skin quality
  • Reduces lines and wrinkles
  • Quick treatment with instant results
  • No down time – go straight back to work

Other treatments for under the eyes.

Dark circles and under eye hollows can make you appear tired, run-down and aged. The tear trough, specifically, is the deep groove that forms from the middle corner of your eye near the nose, down towards your cheek. Dark circles and wrinkles around the eyes and tear trough have a collection of causes, which can be due to ageing, genetics and your environment; it is an issue that concerns men and women of all ages. In some cases we will need to treat the condition of the skin to impact on the condition.

Other options are available to treat the creppy skin and darkness of the eye area, such as under eye skin boosters and PRP. This boosts the production of college and elastin making the skin stronger, thicker and tighter. This reduces the appearance of tired looking eyes.

How many treatments are needed?

For optimum results 3 treatments of PRP are recommended each one month apart, some clients have benefited and are happy with results after just one treatment so this will need to be assessed on an individual basis during consultation.

Treatment is administered using a very fine needle discomfort is minimized as much as possible on average pain scoring is given 4/5 out of 10.

Where do I go?

This can be decided at consultation, as there are a number of clinics that you can select to have your treatment from.

What is the cost?

The cost can vary, we use two PRP machines, one offers a more concentrated end product and naturally requires more blood from the client, this is a more sophisticated machine and is very popular in some of the Italian hair clinics. The cost of this this treatment starts at £1250 per treatment.

The other machine used is priced at £600 per treatment, here a smaller sample of blood is taken, treatment is still effective and is widely used in America. This was an added option so that the treatment is more user friendly at a more client friendly price.

What results should I expect?

Hair is more nourished, thicker and healthier, and skin is brighter, plumper and smoother. Individual results can vary dependent on factors such as genetics, age and lifestyle choices.

When should I consider treatment?

Treatment works best if started early on when signs are becoming apparent. Deeper lines/folds will required more treatment sessions in comparison to less creppy skin etc. This is the same for Hair and Skin regeneration, the sooner treatment is started the better the outcomes, “prevention is better than cure”.
